He was also a master jeweler as he enjoyed creating and inventing. He was an outdoorsman and avid hunter of deer, dove, and armadillo. Don especially enjoyed jet skiing, waterskiing, scuba diving and being out on the lake with friends and family. He loved working with his hands whether it was creating something new or fixing something old.

Survivors include his loving parents, Mark and Cathy Conlee, of Bryan; sister and brother-in-law, Kelli and Bobby Griffin; nephews, Rob and Ryan Griffin; and numerous extended family and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family extends an opportunity to donate in memory of Don to the charity of one’s choice.

  28. Mr. and Mrs. Conlee, Kelli,

I can’t believe it. Don was such an amazing person. I can remember helping him cater BBQ like it was yesterday. Late at night, on Aggie Parents weekend, Don would teach me how to season, cook, and cut BBQ. I still cook brisket the same way. I can’t tell y’all how appreciative I am for what I learned from Don. I am so sorry. I can’t believe it.

  29. I am so sorry Cathy and Mark. I don’t know if y’all remember me , but I worked for y’all 7 years . I can remember Don and Kelli coming to the store and fixing there lunch some times and they were the sweetest well mannered kiddos. I will pray for your family.

  32. Hello. I have the bar the Dizzy Llama in Navasota. Don would occasionally stop by for a couple of beers and was the sweetest man ever. He always kept to himself unless spoken to. It was obvious he was super smart. Such a nice guy. Anyways, I am so sorry for your loss. May God wrap his loving arms around you all.

  33. Dear Mark, Cathe, and Kelly,
I cannot imagine the heartache you feel right now. My prayers are with you!!! I know God understands all your pain and sorrow. He is with you through all of this. He too has wept in deep sorrow. I am so sorry I did not make it to the funeral. I wanted to be there to give you a big hug and weep with you! Don was so sweet and caring and a good friend through junior high and high school. I was blessed to know him. I enjoyed getting to know him in Bible study. I was comforted to hear he was a Believer and know one day will meet again. Love you all!!!

  34. Mark and family … I am so sorry to hear of your loss. God he looks just like you did Mark. I know he was a great son and a great man. I know you are fiercely proud of him. I know his namesake and your Mama were very proud of him too, and I know there is a big Conlee reunion in heaven right now. God bless you and your family with a peace that passes all understanding as he keeps you all comforted and protected in the palm of his mighty hand.

I love you all and your sisters too, and give them my warmest thoughts and wishes when next you see them.

    Dickey and Martha Barron
