October 1, 1927 – September 5, 2018

Dr. Raymond Dietrich, 90, of College Station, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, in his home. A visitation will be held for his family and friends from 5 to 7pm, Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, 3001 South College Ave, Bryan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 pm, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, Texas. Local arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Raymond was born on October 1, 1927 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Arthur and Esther Dietrich. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School. During the Korean War, he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. He attended Texas A&M University on the GI Bill and received his BS and MS in Agricultural Economics. He then worked with the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. and later attended graduate school at the University of Oklahoma, where he received his PhD in Agricultural Economics. He returned to Texas A&M and joined its faculty in Agricultural Economics. He taught and conducted research with the Agricultural Experiment Station for over 20 years. He retired in 1993.

Raymond was preceded in death by his sisters, Leola Fuhrmann, Vernell Maenius, and Dora Fuege, and his brothers, Arthur Dietrich, Jr. and Louis Dietrich. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his son David, his beloved little dog, Yoshi, his sister, Lorene Avant, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or The American Cancer Society.
