Edna Beatrice Moore

Posted By Ricky Alderete On December 7, 2014 @ 6:34 pm In Obituary | 6 Comments

Edna Beatrice James Moore, a long time resident of Bryan and member of Central Baptist Church for over forty years went to live with the Lord on December 6, 2014. She was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on October 12, 1921, the third of six children born to Charlie Ross and Lucy Kate Conrad James. The James family moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1933, where Edna resided until 1964. Edna wed George W. Moore on December 24, 1959 and they were married for 31 years until his death on March 12, 1991. They raised two children, Tammy and Terry, along with Mrs. Moore’s daughters, Lenora and Lila.

Our darling mother had a servant’s heart, living a life of sacrifice, putting her family’s needs before her own. Everyone that met her was brought into her circle of love and were left with the feeling that they had met the sweetest lady on Earth. She was famous for her banana bread that she would share with family, friends, and anyone that did her a kindness.

Her last hours with her family were filled with expressions of love and expectations of the joy she would feel when reaching Heaven. We were blessed to have this wonderful woman in our lives and are forever grateful to God for the gift He gave all of us.

Mom has gone to heaven to join her husband and parents, brother Ray James and his wife, Pauline, sisters Launa White, Elsie Malone, daughter Linda Darlene and grandchildren Melissa Renee’, Heather Dawn and Bryan Keith.

She leaves behind her heartbroken, but forever grateful family: daughters Lenora Angel and husband, Peter Kunst, Lila Daniel, Tammy MacAfee and husband, Scott, and son Terry W. Moore and wife Pam, sisters Margaret Garner and Patsy Hughes, grandchildren are William Blowey, Jr., Bob Blowey, Carmela Angel, Melanie Johnston, Katie Hegefeld, Meagan Allinger, Ryan Hegefeld, Amy MacAfee, Emily Ragan, Jacob Moore, Jordan Moore, Jayla Moore, John Moore, Joy Moore, Jo’el Moore, Jaden Moore; her great-grandchildren Natalie Blowey Aramabide, Brendan Blowey, Mariah Blowey, Lauren Blowey, Tristen Blowey, Zachariah Angel, Ian Angel, Murphy Angel Snider, Marisa Johnston, Madeline Johnston, Parker Daniel MacAfee Hempel, McKenna Allinger, Beckett Allinger, Hadley Brynn Ragan, Piper Grace Mascareno; her great-great grandchildren Bryson Blowey, Mason Aramabide, Gabriel Blowey, Milan Blowey.

Our family would like to recognize and thank the Uplifters Class of Central Baptist Church for their love, kindness, friendship and support to our precious mother, most recently through her time of declining health.

Her Celebration of Life service will be 10am, Wednesday, December 10 at Central Baptist Church, College Station. Family will receive guests at 9am on Wednesday until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow in Rest Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Moore Family: Our loss, God’s gain. God loaned us with a precious Mother and friend, but her legacy will live on. Lila, Nora, Tammy, and Terry, son-in-laws, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, she was so proud of you all, always worrying and praying for you. She is in Glory Land, smiling with a song in her heart and walking those streets of gold. Let’s make her proud and live for JESUS! May GOD give you all comfort during this healing time.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. Your mom was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle person and I loved her like a sister. Our prayers are with each one of you, that God will give you the comfort you need to get you through this sorrowful time and beyond.
