Elva Oralia Cuellar de Lara

Elva Lara, 70, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday September 3, 2016 in College Station. Her visitation will begin at 6pm and Rosary recited at 7pm on Wednesday September 7, 2016 in the St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2402 South College Ave in Bryan. Funeral Mass will be at 2pm on Thursday September 8, 2016 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Her inurnment service will be at a later date in Mexico. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan College Station.
Elva was born to Jose’ Nieves Cuellar and Maria Evangelina Martinez Cuellar in Cuidad Guerrero Viejo Tamps, Mexico. She married Phillip Moncivias Lara on May 11, 1972 in Laredo, Texas. They shared the love of family for more then forty-five years. In their marriage they raised three sons to be men who were taught to love unconditionally, Phillip Jr., Raul, and Richard. She loved to watch her Novellas and the house was in complete silence while they were on. For Elva everyone’s birthday in her family was important with unique celebrations be held for each individual celebrating. She is Catholic and a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her sister Hilda Cuellar Gutierrez.
Her survivors include her husband Phillip Lara; her sons Phillip Jr., Raul and wife Beverly Lara, Richard and wife Marlen Lara; her grandchildren Alex Renee, Victoria Elva, Carmela Lynn, and baby to be born; her brothers Oscar Martin Cuellar, Gilberto Angel Cuellar, Jose Nieves Cuellar Jr., and Raul Rogelio Cuellar; her sisters Alicia Cuellar, Maria Evengelina Cuellar Soliz; her nieces and nephews.
