Ernest Edwin Matejka

A memorial service for Ernest Edwin Matejka, 67, of Bryan will be held at a later date.

Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan is handling arrangements.

Mr. Matejka died Sunday at St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center.

He had served in the U.S. Army and was a supervisor in the city of Bryan’s transportation department.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Matejka of Calvert; a son, Joe Darren Matejka of Bryan; a daughter, Rose Sharon Matejka of College Station; two brothers, Robert Matejka of Georgetown and Edward Matejka of Damon; three sisters, Evelyne Lubowski of Brenham, Elaine Mazac and Elsie Zikuhr, both of Damon, Texas; and two grandchildren

My heart goes out to all of you at this time. Ernest was a great man and father. I have alot of fond memories of him growing up especially when it came to me and Joe getting in trouble for doing something as kids. Just wanted to let you know you are always in my heart and prayers. If you need anything please let me know. We love you..
