Are your final affairs in order? Do you have a will? Does anyone in your family know you wishes for your funeral?
Here’s the Schedule:
Sunday Sept. 20: Rev. John Reasons, Senior Pastor of A&M United Methodist Church will go over the United Methodist funeral liturgy and its traditions as well as guidelines for planning a funeral at A&M UMC.
Sunday Sept. 27: Rick Ruiz, Pre-Arrangement Counselor and Specialist from Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory, will talk to you about making funeral arrangements, the funeral process, and will answer questions.
Sunday Oct. 4: Lauren Fickey, Volunteer Coordinator with Hospice Brazos Valley, will present Hospice 101. We will learn what hospice is and what they can do for you or your loved one.
Sunday Oct. 11: Jeff Harris, an attorney with The Ellison Firm, will talk to you about the importance of having a last will and testament. He will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Sunday Oct. 18: Mark Browning and Jody Ford, both from the Texas A&M Foundation, will discuss stewardship and ways to remember the Church when arranging your estate plans.
These are uncomfortable questions. We prepare ourselves spiritually for death, but seem to forget the worldly affairs our surviving family must deal with. Let us help you learn how to prepare your affairs so that your family doesn’t have to face those decisions in their moment of grief.
Join us in the fellowship hall beginning Sunday, Sept. 20th at 9:45 a.m., for a five week series of classes on preparing your Final Affairs. Each class stands alone and you are welcome to attend all five or only the ones that interest you.
We have a different speaker each week and each one is an experienced professional in his or her field. Mark your calendar now for one or all of these very informative classes on preparing your final affairs.
