Francisca Castro, 86, of Round Rock, formerly of Bryan, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019, in Round Rock. Visitation will begin at 6 pm, with a rosary recited at 7 pm, Friday, January 18, 2019, at Callaway- Jones Funeral Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Santa Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Rest-Ever Memorial Park. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Francisca was born in Donna, Texas to Lucas Castillo and Juana Hernandez Castillo, on October 10, 1932. Francisca was a very loving mother and grandmother who was totally devoted to her family and spending time with them. She loved working in her yard and caring for her plants and flowers. She enjoying crocheting and made numerous hats, scarves, and blankets for all members of her family. Ray and Francisca were married on July 28, 1947 in Donna, TX in Hidalgo County. One thing Francisca and her husband Ray were always known for was their love of dancing! There was rarely a weekend or occasion that you would not see them at the dance hall dancing to their favorite Tejano and Mexican music. Having shared a long full life of 72 years of marriage, Ray was by her side on the day of her peaceful passing.

Francisca is now reunited with her parents, Lucas and Juana Castillo, her son, Reynaldo Castro Jr, her grandsons, Louis Don Garcia and Jeremy R. Rodriguez, and her beautiful granddaughter Sarah-Frances Danielle Hernandez.

She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Castro, Sr and children Angel Castro and wife Delicia of Round Rock, Anita Garcia and husband Roy of Chicago, Irene Moreno of Dallas, Edward Castro and wife Laura of Chicago, Corina Cavazos and husband John of San Antonio, Stella Hernandez and husband Danny of San Antonio, and Joaquin Castro of Bryan.

Francisca also leaves behind beautiful memories with 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

  1. My condolences to the Family of Frances Castro. I worked with her, she was my neighbor for many years. we lived corner to corner on Beck St. She was a very strong lady. Always friendly. Sad to hear of her passing. May she rest in peace.
