October 1, 1950 – March 14, 2020

Gary Niemeyer, 69, of Bryan, TX passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home.  Family will be having a private service and interment due to the current pandemic with COVID-19.

Gary was born in Bryan, TX on October 1, 1950 to Milford and Louise Niemeyer.  He served his country in the United States Navy from 1970 to 1974.  Following his military service, he was a truck driver for 35 years, driving for Alenco, Commodity Specialties and Farold, Inc. After his truck driving career, Gary applied his trucking expertise and knowledge and served as a truck dispatcher with Farold, Inc.  During his retirement, Gary enjoyed gardening, playing his guitars, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 40 years, Connie Niemeyer; son and daughter-in-law, Neill and Lindsey Niemeyer; step-daughter, Jennifer Lemons and her husband Bick; grandchildren, Mason and Paityn Seymour, and Benjamin Lemons; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Frances Niemeyer; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members.

He was always helpful in many ways to me and others as we would leave Bryan in a convoy heading West, Have lots of memories driving down the road keeping each other awake talking over the CB . His kind soul and generous heart will be missed. He always had a way of making us smile even when we were stressing over trucks, drivers and loads. We will keep everyone in our prayers.

    Sonny and I were shocked to hear of Gary’s passing. I grew up with Gary in Smetana and have a lot of memories. What I remember most about him was that he was always happy, laughing and joking.
