You always did so much for us and genuinely loved being with your family. I miss you and always will, but I am so happy that you are at peace again! Your peaceful, happy nature will forever be a cherished memory of you. I just know you are looking down on us enjoying the family time we are having right now, and I hope you are surrounded by beautiful roses and animals reading in God’s wondrous garden. Thank you grandpa for all you have always done. You are an incredible man in all aspects of life, and I am more than blessed to say that you are my grandfather. I love you so much grandpa, forever and always. I won’t say goodbye, though, because I know I will see you again. Grandpa, watch over me. I know you’ll always be my guardian angel. I love you so much, grandpa. As I ended many cards, I cannot wait to see you again! Thanks for all the amazing memories growing up, I love you!

  5. Well Dad, its been almost a year since you passed from us. That is so hard to believe. We all miss you. Walking into your house is so different without your smile there to greet us. You always welcomed our visits. As Adrienne has said you are at peace now and without pain, enjoying your roses and animals running around enjoying your nice big yard. Love you Dad, miss you!!!

  6. Gerald, your passing was unnoticed by me. Requiescat In Pace.
For the rest of your family, I am Gerald’s first cousin and given his father’s name Meredith. I attended when I was 16 his marriage to Shirley, but saw little of him as I was in those early years training as an accountant and based in Portsmouth and later London. Gerald had a lot of first cousins, my two brothers (one sadly died young) from his uncle Derek, three daughters all now dead from his aunt Audrey, another three daughters born to his uncle Gerald who had then lived in Shetland for health reasons. I know nothing of Shirley’s surviving relatives in the UK and Gerald & Shirley had already left to live in the USA by the time I moved to Yorkshire.
