Geraldine Taplin

Geraldine Taplin, born in Waco, Texas, on August 1, 1939 to Wallace and Essie (Freeman) Kuykendall, who both preceded her in death, passed away at her home in Bryan on June 5, 2013. She was 73 years in age. She married Leroy Taplin on March 26, 1988 in Bryan, Texas. Geraldine asked her family to honor her request that she be cremated. Arrangements by Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.
Geraldine spent her formative years in Los Angeles, California, graduating from Freemont High School. Geraldine’s career as a nurse began early in life, and she enjoyed being of service to people and seeing to her patients needs. She was blessed to have been able to live and work in many states, including California, Texas and Utah, calling many cities home. Thru out her life she enjoyed many activities, some of her favorites including beading, sewing and travel, and in her retirement she was able to take many cruises with loved ones. Geri was a member of the Salt Lake Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Leroy Taplin and her step father Burt Arnold Sr.
Geraldine’s survivors include her son, Lee Andrew Sr. and Denise Williams; her daughters Pamela Knight-Bragg, Mary Knight, Valda and Jeff Shockley, and Gloria Lynn Knight; her grandchildren, Donyea Lee Trussell and wife Angela, Tiffany Williams, LeAndra Williams, Lee Williams II, Whitney Renee Bragg, Brittney Ann Bragg, Michael Bragg, Mickel D Knight and wife Ajitta (Misty), Ebony Knight and Marko Tennell, Thresa Knight, Shaye Lee Shockley, Oshanea Davis, Amber Knight, Brooklyn Lakhol Knight, Kingston Mikhol Wayne Knight; her great-grandchildren Mickel Jr., Ma’kie, Colin, Logan, Maharie, Alexis, Avery, and Payton Rose. She leaves to honor her memory a host of siblings, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
