Gloria was born on April 23, 1934 in Detroit Michigan. She was born to Rose and James Clement. She was the oldest of 6 children. Her siblings were, Joseph, Ann, James, Patrick, and George. She attended South East High School in Detroit, were she was on the high school Synchronized swim team and graduated high school in 1952. She decided to join the United States Navy right out of high school. After completing basic training and she was sent to Corpus Christi, Texas to be a Clerical Striker.

While Gloria was in the Navy, someone accidently wrote her name as Micki on some paperwork, instead of her real name Gloria, and from that point on, she kept the name and became Micki. Micki met James Mahle while stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was also in the Navy. They married in 1954, but back in those days, married women were not allowed to remain in the Navy, so she had to resign. James and Micki were married for 2 years before they had their first child. James Mahle III was born in 1956. Then Terry Steve born 3 years later, then Cynthia Ann, and then Kenneth Scott. Micki and James moved to Bryan Texas in 1957, and that is where they raised their family.

Micki was a very hard worker and was always very busy. She worked at the First Bank and Trust in Bryan, in the loan department and she was there for many years, but was offered a job with Bryan High School and she decided to accept the position. She loved working with the high school students and was always talking about them. She truly cared and loved those kids and she worked there until she retired in 1999. Micki’s true passion was serving her church. She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church for almost 40 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister for the home bound, serving communion on Saturdays to those that couldn’t get to church, and she never missed a Sunday. She was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was also a member of the American Legion of Bryan and served however they needed her. She loved celebrating all the special military events, especially the parades downtown. She was available for the funerals for her beloved military brother and sisters.

Her grandson Ryan Kahil precedes her in death.

Micki has 4 children, James, Terry and his wife Rhonda, Cindy and her husband Mark, and Scott. She has 7 grandchildren, Dale and his wife Amber, Lauren and her husband Amos, Ryan, Steven and his wife Brittany, Tyler, Morgan and her husband James, and Jordan. She has 4 great grandchildren, Maddie, Jackson, Grayson and Ian. She loved being a grandmother and bragged about her grand kids to everyone. Her grandchildren remember their “Mimi” as having super big white hair. When she went to their sporting events or school activities, they could always find her in the stands. She never forgot to call them on their birthday and sing happy birthday to them first thing in the morning. It is a very sweet memory.
