On June 23rd, 2006, Hershel Hargrove, of Bryan, was presented the key to the gateway of Heaven, by our Lord and our Savior.

Hershel was 85 years of age. He was born in Throckmorton County on August 14th, 1920 to John and Zenna Hargrove.

He married Thelma Davis (Hargrove) on July 1, 1966 and retired from the Cotton Gin of West, Texas, before making their home in Mason. Hershel and Thelma moved to Bryan in 1997. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bryan.

Hershel is survived by his wife, Thelma of Bryan; son, Dee Wimblerly of Bryan and four grandchildren. He came from a family of five sisters and five brothers, all deceased. Among his survivors are many friends and family who trusted, loved and respected Hershel. He had a great strength of character and a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Funeral Services for Hershel Hargrove will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 27th, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Henry Stovall and Rev. Jerry Russum officiating. Interment will follow at Smetana Cemetery.
