Ida Bell Motley

Ida Bell (Slay) Dail Motley, 84, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2012 in Bryan, Texas. A memorial service is set for Thursday, February 23, at 11:00 AM at the Beacon Baptist Church in Bryan with a graveside service later that afternoon at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart, Texas.
“Miss Bell”, as she was affectionately known, was born on August 14, 1927 in Wortham, Texas to Robert Edward and Ida Bell (Ritter) Slay. She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Texas (Wortham, Elkhart, Rusk, Nacogdoches, Houston, Mexia, Longview, Dallas, Irving, & Bryan) along with stints in Washington D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia.
Bell was preceded in death by her parents and four older siblings, James, Charles, Ophelia, and Robbie Lynn.
Survivors include her sister, Estelle Beverly, of Bryan; her four sons, Robert Alonzo Dail of Bryan, Donnie Roy Dail of Greensburg, PA, Rickey Eugene Dail of Bryan, and Jimmie Roger Dail of Easley, SC; ten grandchildren, Kenneth, Heather, Aaron, Kent, Virginia, Kevin, Krystal, Brittany, Brendon, and Bradley; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Kyra, and Luca.
