Jackie Harper

Jackie Harper, 76, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

Jackie was born November 5, 1931. He had been a resident of Bryan since 1952, moving from Charleston, W.Va. He served in the US Air Force and was stationed at the Bryan Air Force Base. Prior to his retirement, he was a sheet rock finisher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Harper.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Linda Harper, of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Kim Strickland, of Alpine and Patsy and Louis Nagel, of Weatherford; brother, Charlie Moss, of Pasadena; sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian Harper-Price of Charleston, W.Va. and Francis and Sam Summers of Columbus, Ohio; special friend, Bennie Hodges; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
