Jimmie Dean Landreth “Tuffy”
September 21, 1940 – September 21, 2016

Jimmie Dean Landreth, also known as “Tuffy” to those close to him, was called home on his 76th birthday, September 21, 2016. Although we are saddened, we are faithful God chose to bring Jim into this world and on this same day of his birth, God chose to bring him home.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at St. Luke’s Methodist Church, 2700 Villa Maria West. Jim’s family and friends will hold a graveside service celebrating his life with visitation beginning at 2:30pm until the time of service at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Spring Hill Cemetery in DeKalb, Texas in Bowie County. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Jim was born in New Boston, Texas to James and Pansy Shook Landreth. Jim was an avid golfer and fisherman who traveled extensively with family and friends throughout his life and who took great pride in his businesses, raising cattle and miniature horses.

His survivors to carry on the legacy he leaves behind are his children David Landreth, Dana Owen and her husband John, and Deana Landreth; his brothers James “Peck” Landreth and wife Molly, Jerry Landreth and wife Vanette and other family along with many close friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Brazos Valley In-Patient Facility, 1600 Joseph Drive, Bryan, Texas 77802.

Condolence from Miguel Angel Bravo on September 23rd, 2016 1:08 am

Although I didn’t know in person this fine gentleman. I am grateful for the way he treated the Corral family when they worked for him many years ago. He was a kind and true friend to all of them and I heard only good things about him as a boss and as a friend.

There are no words that we can express to alleviate the sadness he leaves behind. We only wish that our Heavenly Father receives him in his bosom and gives him the peace that he deserves. With the faith as well that someday we will be all together in the presence of the Lord.

Our deepest sympathies to the family and friends who loved him. Rest in peace “Mr. Jim”.

Sincerely,

Virginia Corral, Diana Corral, Gregorio Corral Sr, Julieta Corral, “Concha” Corral, Gregorio Corral Jr, Miguel A. Bravo

I knew Jimmie through my work, his Dr. would periodically send him to me for medical imaging. Over the years we were acquainted, I developed a genuine fondness for Jimmie, and I looked forward to our visits, even though the circumstances were less than ideal. He was such a nice guy, friendly, down to earth, a true gentleman. I’m saddened it’s over. Blessings to all his loved ones.
