Jose Ramirez-Valadez

Jose’ A. Ramirez-Valdez
March 14, 1938 – June 6, 2019

The pillar of our family, the image of a Godly man, the source of hope and strength to his beloved wife and family, Jose’ Ramirez-Valdez, 81, of Bryan, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019, in his home surrounded by the family he instilled the value of honest work and unconditional love.

We gathered last night during visiting hours here at Callaway-Jones, what a true experience of our grandfather bringing everyone together, although sadden by his passing away, we came together as a family and a community of friends to honor his life. Today, we will celebrate Jose’s legacy as we reflect on his life of sacrifice for his wife, his family and friends. And at the same time rejoice in the life of service his lived for others, we know the joy he gave to us all by his unconditional love and sharing his faith with all he knew.

Jose’ was born in Mexico, to Jose’ and Dionisia Valadez Ramirez. He braved the fears of moving from his homeland to unknown territories of Texas. It was in faith he would settle in Bryan, Texas raising his family to be honest hard workers. He may have not had a formal education but he knew life, studied what was happening in the world to make it a better place for his family.

Jose’ parents, and grandson Juan Carlos Castillo, and his sister Martha Ramirez, all precede him in death.

Jose’ is survived by his wife of 57 years, Teresita Martinez Ramirez; his sons Martin Ramirez, Gerardo Ramirez, Jose’ Alejo Jr, and wife Michelle, and Juan Pablo Ramirez; his daughters, Maria Lopez, Ana Alicia Castillo, and Adrianna Ramirez; his great-grandson Jordan Castillo; his 30 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
