Keith Johnston

Keith Johnston, 88, of College Station, passed from this life on Thursday, April 24 at the College Station Medical Center. His family will receive guests during visiting hours from 6 to 8pm on Monday, April 28, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 1:30pm on Tuesday, April 29 at Rest Ever Memorial Park. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Keith was born in Robertson County December 12, 1925 to Thomas Leslie and Vera Couch Johnston. After graduating high school, he went to work as a ranch forman at Bald Prairie, Tx. In 1960, Keith moved his family to Bryan and would call this his home until his death. In Bryan, Keith became a building contractor working on many houses in Bryan/College Station before his retirement,

Keith was most known for his love of music. He would play his mandolin and sing as long as anyone would listen. You could always hear him singing a tune or whistling when you came to visit him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Johnston, son, Tom Johnston, brother, A.W. Johnston, sisters, Thelma Godsey, Luceale Johnston and Nell Ingledue.

Surviving Keith are his daughters Carolyn Francis of Tabor Community, Ann Freeman of Greenville, Norma Johnston of College Station, Linda Francis and husband Stan of Tabor Community, and son, Jerry Johnston of Bryan; his brother Thomas Johnston, his sister Joyce Leistner and husband Johnny; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
