Kenneth “KC” Morgan

Kenneth “KC” Chapple Morgan, 89, of College Station, passed away Monday June 3, 2013 in Bryan, Texas. The family will receive friends during visitation from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday evening, June 6, 2013, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, June 7, at Cavitt Church of Christ in Bryan. Interment will follow immediately at Wheat Cemetery in Millican with Military Honors. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
K.C. was born October 16, 1923 in Ellisville, Mississippi, to Aquilla and Pearlie Morgan. He has lived in this area since 1954 and was a member of the Cavitt Church of Christ. He taught many students in the College Station School District as a teacher of Life Sciences at A&M Consolidated High School. K.C. was also a veteran of the US Army Air Corps, in which he bravely served during WWII.
K.C. loved his church family and served as an elder at Cavitt Church of Christ for more than 35 years. He went to the Dominican Republic on a number of mission trips to encourage and support the church congregations there.
He enjoyed keeping bees; gardening, fixing things and took care of all kinds of animals including milk goats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, pigs, dogs and cats. He spent more than 50 years as a cotton insect control consultant with many of the farmers in the Brazos bottom.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Atha Lee Morgan; son, Samuel Aquilla Morgan; brothers, Arthur and Clayton Morgan; and his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Jerry Morgan and wife Ann of Brenham, Bob Morgan of College Station; daughter, Cindy Byrd and husband Jim of Newport News, Virgina; brother, Rayford Morgan of Ellisville, Mississippi; grandchildren, Russell Morgan, Kristie Poole, Vanessa Sassen, Celisse Morgan, Anna Lee Morgan, Tom Byrd, Kenny Morgan; great grandchildren, Khrystean Poole, Cody Poole, and Brylee Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Cherokee Home for Children at PO Box 295, Cherokee, TX 76832.
