Laura is the treasured daughter of Julia Ortega and Jose (Joe) Leal-Rosas, born on September 11, 1983, in Bryan. From the beginning of life, she would be challenged with childhood diabetes but would embrace this and become a sensational daughter, sports enthusiast and beloved mother of her children. Laura was blessed with a nephew; she loved as her own Joaquin. Her children, Isaiah and Abigail completed her world. She found her soul mate, in faith; Angel Villa and lived life to the fullest with travels she would have never expected as a single mom. Angel and Laura completed each other’s world. Laura is formerly employed with the St. Anthony’s Mother Day Out Program where she enjoyed loving children from start to finish. A true Texas Aggie Fan of all athletics. She was most fond of softball as she played from an early childhood through high school. Family gatherings that she took a major part in will be different due to her absence. Laura was determined to fight for her life knowing her medical condition and refused to let this prevent her from being a Karate and Gymnastics mom. Laura was self-motivated to live a full life as possible and she was true to her mother and brother to give the best she had to her family. Although, our angel on earth has departed this world her life and spirit continues to dance, dance, dance now in heaven. Laura would want us all to continue to dance in this life and to live life to the fullest.

Proceeding her in death are her father Jose A. (Joe) Leal-Rosas; her paternal grandparents Eduviges Rosas Rueda and James Rueda Sr.; her maternal grandparents Marcos and Susie Ortega.

She is survived by her son Isaiah; her daughter Abigail; her soul mate and true companion Angel Villa; her devoted mother Julia Ortega; her brother Gilbert and wife Patricia Ortega; nephew Joaquin Ortega; her paternal grandfather Wilfredo Leal from California; her aunts and uncles Joseph and wife Irma Ortega, David and wife Rose Mary Chavez. Angel’s parents Jose P. Villa and Margarita Gonzalez; sister Julie Villa and her children Kiana, Elize (Pinky), and Danica; her cousins Jessica Ortega, Krystal and husband Omar Gamboa, Kris Ortega, Selena Ortega and fiancé Joseph Lugo; along with numerous second cousins and extended family. Her close friends she considered as sisters Alesia Barrajas, Julie Hernandez, and Kristina Hernandez. As well as other close family members and dearest friends.

  16. Laura was a student of mine when she was in the eighth grade at Stephen F. Austin. She was such a sweet and hard working student. Laura and I met again years later when we both worked at St. Anthonys. It was there that I had the chance to get to know her as a coworker and she would still always call me Mrs. Bell. That always made me smile. It was wonderful being able to see her again and to have met her children. Please know that my thoughts and prayers go out to Laura’s family. May Laura rest in peace.
