Condolences

  1. May the family of Lee Cole find comfort in your loving memories, and in knowing that God is “near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34;18) Our loving Creator has promised to soon “swallow up death forever…and wipe the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25;8) With deepest sympathy,

  2. Lee you will be missed by me and all of us at Jamespoint. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family at this very sad time. I know you are at peace with God in heaven and renewing your love with the loved ones and friends who were waiting for you in heaven. You will always be in heart and memories. You are now one of God’s angels, watch over your family and friends as we struggle with your leaving us to be with God. We will miss you. Love Frances

  3. Scott and Hunter,
I’m so sorry about your mom. She was a really good friend and I will miss her terribly. She loved both of you so much and she was so proud of the men that you became. Let us know if we can do anything to help you and we are there…
    Carol

  4. Lee was always “Cissie” to me, what her family called her. When I was four years old we moved into the house next door to hers and I very well remember the first time I saw her, bounding down the hill to welcome us, wavy golden hair and crystal blue eyes. She was beautiful, six years older than I was and I stared at her in awe: she was the Big Girl to me. I idolized her from then on and we were very close. Cissie often baby sat for us and she was at our house every day, hanging around my mother and the children. Mama taught her to cook and to sew and Cissie became a part of our family. I loved her dearly and have continued to, these 56 years hence. We talked for hours on the phone, regularly. I drove my children to King’s funeral in College Station and to her mother’s funeral. We were like sisters. I’m devasted that she’s gone so young but am proud of her strength. I talked to her last week and she was having trouble breathing so she couldn’t talk as long as we usually did. She didn’t tell me she had cancer, only “lung disease, from smoking all those years.” I started crying and she said, “It’s OK, Robin. You have to pay the piper, you know.” I had no idea that would be the last time I would talk to Cissie. I tried to call her yesterday morning to wish her Merry Christmas, not realizing she had passed. Her cousin, Lee Pence, told me the sad news last evening. I will miss you terribly, dearest Cissie, and will love you, always. You were a beautiful person, loyal and honest, always ready to laugh. I adore you. My heart goes out to Hunter and Scott, to Betty, Lee, David, all her family and her many friends.

  5. Dear sweet Lee, my life has been enriched and blessed with your friendship. You are now in our heavenly Father’s loving comforting embrace and reunited with the love of your life King, but here on earth I will miss your cheerful voice, warm advice and sweet smile to brighten my days. Thank you for watching over my boys for me, like they were your own, while they were in College Station, and please keep an eye on Weston for me, until we are all together again I will always miss and love you.

  6. Scott and Hunter
Your Mom was such a great friend I miss her so much already. She was such a great friend to Ruthann Powell and them to us when she passed on. Scott you know how to reach me so please let me know if I can help in any way.
    Love you Lee.

  7. I am saddened by news of her death. She was such an important person in Nathan’s life in the way she opened her home to him and offered her love and kindness. She was an important person to me for that reason and I am grateful to her for her generous sharing of herself and her home.

  8. To the entire family: Betty and I send our deepest sympathy at the loss of Lee. She was such a good friend to the family and an important part of our family after the loss of our mom Ruth Ann Powell. Our love and prayers go out to all of Lee’s family. We will be thinking of you at this very difficult time.

    Robert and Betty Powell

  9. I can’t even express how sad we are for your loss, Hunter and Scott. Your mom has been such a wonderful neighbor for close to 11 years, and was always the one we could depend on to keep a watchful eye on our house, our kids, the other kids, the block, and pretty much the subdivision. If anybody didn’t belong, she’d be the first to confront them to find out their business. Even when it was the FBI! I’ll have to tell you about that if you don’t already know. We will miss her so much. Even though our talks out front had become less frequent due to our schedules, I always looked forward to them. In our last talk she told me once again how proud she was of both of you. Please let us know if you need anything at all. May God bless you with the strength and peace you’ll need to find during this difficult time.

  10. Scott and Hunter

I am so sorry to learn about your Moms passing. She was such a strong force. She always impressed me so much with her strenth in handling life.

Your Mom and Dad were a great and special couple. They were an important part of my life. I cherish the memories with them. They will be happy to be back together.

Your Mom was very proud of both of you. We will all miss her.

    God bless you!

  11. Dear Hunter and Scott- you are in every thought, every hope, and every prayer. I just learned about the passing of your Mother and I cannot begin to express the saddness in my heart. She was such a wonderful friend to me and to my boys. You all have a special place in our hearts. Your Mother was an extraordinary person and she will be so greatly missed. Please know she was very proud of you.

  12. Dearest Hunter and Scott,
You both are in my heart and my mind at this time and I pray that Christ
will lift you up during your time of grief and mourning. Take comfort in
knowing that this is not the end of the loving bond you share with your
mother; she has merely gone on to Paradise before you and you will indeed
be reunited with her when your time is come. May God’s love and grace be
    with you today and always.
    Love,
    Julia

  13. Dear Scott and Hunter, I just found out about Lee last night. I am so sorry I did not know sooner. Lee was a very special person…she encouraged people, made them feel special. You two boys were the light of her life. She and I shared our faith with each other in a very special way. She kept after me about my art; made me a better person that way also. I will never forget her.
