Linda Hudgins Van Zandt
November 21, 1946 – January 15, 2019

Linda Hudgins Van Zandt, 72, passed away on January 15, 2019. Born in Norman, Oklahoma, Linda lived most of her life in the Houston and New Orleans metropolitan areas. Linda was the wife of C.M. “Van” Van Zandt, III, and mother to Cristi and Clough, better known as “Chip”. After their children were grown and out of the house, Linda and Van lived in Mandeville, Louisiana until moving to College Station in 2010 to be closer to Chip and his family.

Linda studied vocal performance at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and her love of singing stayed with her throughout her life. She performed with her church choirs, and later performed with her father at nursing homes and hospitals as part of their work with Volunteers for America in New Orleans. She also loved flower arranging, making wreaths and arrangements even after she moved to Isle at Watercrest Assisted Living in College Station, where she lived after her husband died in 2011. Linda was also a life-long member of P.E.O., a women’s service organization.

Her parents, Joe L. and Martha Hudgins, her sister, Patricia Hudgins McMahan, and her husband, C.M. Van Zandt, III, preceded Linda in death. She is survived by her daughter, Cristi Van Zandt Faulkner of The Woodlands, TX; son C.M. Van Zandt, IV and his wife Shannon Van Zandt of College Station, TX; grandchildren Faith Elizabeth Faulkner; Bethany Jane Faulkner; Andrew Christopher Faulkner; Matthew Thomas Van Zandt; and Lily Patricia Van Zandt; along with a niece and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10 am, until the time of service at 11:30 am, Monday, January 21, 2019 at Callaway Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S. College Avenue, Bryan, TX.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, Texas, 77803, or to Family Promise of Montgomery County, Post Office Box 692, Conroe, Texas 77305, in Memory of Linda Van Zandt.
