Lorena was born in the Sandy Hill community in Washington County on March 11, 1922. She was baptized April 30, 1922 and confirmed on March 21, 1937 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sandy Hill.

Lorena was married to Raymond Neumann on September 4, 1943 at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sandy Hill. After Raymond returned from WWII, they moved to Rosenberg, Texas and then to Wharton, Texas where they raised their family. Lorena enjoyed taking care of her family and volunteering at her church. She loved to sew, make quilts and work on just about any sort of craft project. She loved working in her flower beds and in her garden also.

In 1992 she and Raymond moved to Bryan, Texas to be close to her grandchildren, Garrett and Nick. They were so special to her and are really blessed to have been able to grow up with her in their life. She enjoyed fellowship with the ladies in her circle at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. She worked tirelessly to care for Raymond for 16 years after he had a very serious, life changing illness until his passing.

After she experienced a brief illness leaving her in need of a higher level of care she moved to Brookdale Alamo Heights Assisted Living Community in San Antonio, Texas where her son assisted with her care.

She is survived by her son, Mark Neumann; daughter, Linda Goerger and son-in-law, Van Goerger; grandchildren, Garrett Christian Goerger and Nicholas Hunter Goerger; sister, Delores Gaskamp, six nieces, two nephews and numerous cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Ben and Selma (Haarmeyer) Addicks and her husband, Raymond Neumann.
