Condolences for the family of “Louis John Berka”

Condolence from Nadine Roese McVey on December 29th, 2011 11:35 am

I remember Louis as a gentle soul who married my cousin Clara in mid-life after they both had previous marriages. They seemed to be soul mates. I’d see them over the years at family reuinions, weddings, funerals, etc. Louis never had a lot to say, but he was obviously devoted to Clara and she to him. After we lost Clara last year, Louis’s health declined along with his memory. I remember visiting him at the Sherwood when he would ask me where Clara was and why she wasn’t visiting him……so sad. Then in the next breath, he would be telling me about a battle he fought in WWII, but he never told me he received the Purple Heart. Thank you for your service, Louis….That’s the kind of man I’ll remember, one devoted to his loved ones, and a gentle soul who never mentioned his accomplishments……RIP Louis,I know Clara was waiting for you at the Pearly Gates and I’m sure God has the perfect place for you to do your gardening…..♥
