Mable “Margaret” Hudson

Mable “Margaret” Hudson, 80, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Friday, June 21st at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, 3001 S. College Ave., Bryan, TX 77801. The graveside service will be held 10 am Saturday, June 22nd in College Station City Cemetery, 2530 Texas Avenue South, College Station, TX 77840 with Rev. David Rowland officiating.

Margaret was born on March 18, 1939 in Bryan, TX to her parents, Milton and Mozelle Todd. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1976 and her Master’s Degree in 1980, both in Education and from Texas A&M University. Margaret taught for 20 years in Hearne and during that time received several awards most notably the State Educator of the Year Award for Special Education in 1985 and the Outstanding Educator of the Year in 1991. During her career Margaret was also the Supervisor of Texas A&M University Student Teachers for 10 years. She enjoyed teaching and influenced many students throughout her tenure. Margaret loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mozelle Todd; and her daughter, Caron Ann Tippitt.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert Lee Hudson; daughter, Debbie Hudson; grandsons, Chris Tippitt and his wife, Kellye Tippitt, Matthew Tippitt and his wife, Jin Tippitt; great-grandchildren, Conner, Kennedy, Lilyanne, and Wyatt; brothers, J.W. Todd, Irvin Todd; sister-in-law, Dianne Hudson; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

  3. I taught with Margaret for 4 years at Hearne. She and I carpooled for 3 of those years. She was an inspiration as a teacher. I am so sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. I had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Hudson when I taught with her at Blackshear School in Hearne. She touched many lives and had a great love for her 3rd Grade students. My sympathies to your family.
