Marilea Hopkins

Marilea Hopkins, 59, passed away Monday May 12, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. The family will receive guests during visitation from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Marilea was born March 25, 1955 in Waco, Texas, to Douglas and Gloria Hopkins. She was a postal worker for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. Marilea was an animal enthusiast and once owned and bred Arabian Horses for 13 years. She was gifted with her needlework, and she will be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don Malmstrom, and her mother.

Survivors include her father, Douglas Hopkins; sisters, Joy Hopkins, Anne Heffernan and husband Michael; brothers and sisters-in-law, James D. and Selia Hopkins, Wayne D. and Julie Hopkins, Carl D. and Debbie Hopkins, Patrick Pinson; nieces, Amber Hopkins, Cierra Barker, Jessica Sneddon, Carrie Terry, Kira Hopkins, Nicole Ringo; nephews, Justin, Heath, Evan, William, Douglas, Mark, Scott, and Travis Hopkins; and her four dogs were like children to her, Jackie, Sally, Bunny, and Tina.
