Mary Anna Franze

Mary Anna Franze, 87, of Wellborn, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Saturday, December 4, at Wellborn Baptist Church. There will be a private interment.

Mary Anna was born on December 2, 1922 in Wellborn to George B. and Katie R. Hensarling. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved to travel. She was a bookkeeper for H-E-B Grocery Co. for many years. Mary Anna moved from Corpus Christi to Wellborn in 1981 and was a member of Wellborn Baptist Church. She was born and died in Wellborn and her family was among the original settlers of Wellborn.

Mary Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Everett G. Franze; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Sherry Franze, and their son Jody.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Vicki Franze of Wellborn, Texas; grandchildren, James and Debbie Franze, Jeff and Ashley Franze, Kristen, Katharine, Kirby, Kent, Kolt, and Kamryn Franze; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Madison, and Ian Franze.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellborn Baptist Church, P.O. Box 10, Wellborn, Texas 77881 or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, TX 77803.

  2. I was so sorry to hear of Mary Anna’s passing…..I remember her when she used to attend Christian Women’s Club and bring her granddaughters. How special that was…. I pray God will be with all the family as they face the days ahead…. Jean Reavis

    I’m sorry to hear about your mom passing. After our visit this summer, I’m sure she’s at peace, and I hope you and family are as well. She was the last of that generation, and she will be missed. Katie called with the news, after Michael read it in the paper; I would have made plans to be there, but time did not permit. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
