Mary was born in Wolfe City, Texas to Reginald Creed and Maxine Herrin Creed, on April 30, 1940. Mary was very involved in her community serving as Precinct Judge for over sixteen years and served as Deputy Constable under her husband Constable Ray Horn, prior to being the JP. She loved her family and loved her community as a public servant of the people. Mary devoted many hours to the community and truly inspired her family to give as much as they could. As a precinct judge she not only served as the final judgment in many cases but also wanted to help teach the person how to avoid returning to her bench.
