Mary Ellen Carlton, 87, of College Station, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016, in College Station. Mary Ellen’s family will honor her life in a Memorial Service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bryan on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 2 PM.Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers – Bryan/College Station.

Mary Ellen was born to Ray and Leola Mae O Bannon Williams on June 29, 1929, in Dallas, Texas. She dedicated her life to her family, expressing unconditional love. Mary Ellen married Dean Carlton on September 9, 1949; together they shared 61 years of marriage. They traveled together extensively flying aircraft as recreational pilots. They also enjoyed attending Texas A&M Aggie sporting events and Dallas Cowboy football games throughout their married life. She and Dean were blessed with three loving children. Mary Ellen was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Bryan. As well as, The Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas; St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Richardson; and St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Dallas.

Preceding Mary Ellen in death were her parents, Ray and Leola; her husband, Dean; and her brother, Larry Williams. She is survived by her children, Mark Carlton, Scott Carlton and Heather (Mary Ann) Carlton; her sister-in-law, Kay Williams; her nephew, Larry Williams, Jr. and wife, Susan; great-niece, Sarah Williams, all from Valley Ranch, Texas; she leaves behind her fur babies, Charlie, Lady Bird, and Kubric; and other close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in her honor to the Aggieland Humane Society at aggielandhumane.org, or other local ASPCAs.
