Mary “Nell” Arhopulos

April 21, 1931-May 26, 2019

Mary “Nell” Arhopulos of Wellborn, TX passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born April 21, 1931 in Palestine, TX to her parents, William Herman & Vera Viola Frazier Crawford. Nell had three siblings: sister, Hazel Crawford; brother, Odell Crawford; and sister, Bernadine (Bunny) Littlejohn.

Nell grew up in Bryan, TX and graduated from S.F.A. High School in 1948. She married Tommy Arhopulos on January 27, 1950 and had four daughters. Nell and her husband moved to a ranch in Wellborn where they raised their family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife for over 64 years.

Nell was preceeded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, daughter, Georgia Cole, grandson, Kevin Cole, and son-in-law, Aubrey Arnold Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Terry Williams and husband, Robert of Wellborn, TX, Carol Arnold of Bryan, TX, and Rexanne Pilkenton and husband, Bruce of McDade, TX; grandchildren, John and Chad Wolf, Jason and Brandon Williams, Katie McElroy, and Jenna Rosier; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Robert Williams and Bruce Pilkenton; and grandsons, John and Chad Wolf, Jason and Brandon Williams.

Memorial donations can be made in Nell’s honor to Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility at 1600 Joseph Dr., Bryan, TX 77802.

The family would like to thank our moms caregivers for the love, care and friendship you provided her over the years. She was so blessed to have you ladies in her life. You were very special to her and our family.

To the staff of Hospice Brazos Valley In Patient we are thankful to you for the compassion and dignity you provided mom in the last days of her life. We will always be grateful to you all.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to 12 PM Wednesday, May 29th with the Funeral Service to follow at 12 PM in the Bluebonnet Chapel of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, 3001 S. College Ave., Bryan, TX, with Certified Life Celebrant Dawn Lee Wakefield officiating.

The Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at College Station City Cemetery, 2530 Texas Avenue South, College Station, TX 77840.

Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

  2. My Momma, Aunt Nell and MawMaw were three of the hardest working, most loving, giving women I’ve ever known.
    Sunday they, along with all the others gone before them, were reunited. I know it was a loud and joyous time of celebration

  3. I was a caregiver for Ms Nell. She was a very special lady. She told me lots of stories bout her late husband, now they are back together forever. Her daughter Terry was there everyday to see her n make sure she had everything she needed. God bless her family I know this is hard on them all. Praying for y’all. Rip Ms Nell
