Minnie Virgie Marie Strasripka Worthington, 74, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 9 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery.
Ms. Worthington was the daughter of Charlie and Orpha Strasripka. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Worthington, son Roger Dale, brother Charles Strasripka, and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Virgie Denise Nicholas and husband Richard; son, James O. Worthington and wife Paula; sisters, Lucille Hopper, Martha Smithy; seven grandchildren, their spouses, and ten great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley at 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, Texas 77803.
Virgie loved to be surrounded by her family. I am sorry for their loss.
Lucille– We are very sorry to learn of Vergie’s passing . We think of your family often and recall
the very positive influence your Father had on me personally. Many of the lessons I learned from him have helped me thru my life. Rarely a day goes by since we’ve moved back here to the home place that I’m not reminded of something from my times with him.
