Nancy Ellen Russell
March 11, 1948 – September 14, 2019

Nancy Ellen Russell of College Station, Texas went to be with Her Lord on September 14, 2019, at home, surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Houston, Texas to Mary New on March 11, 1948. She was raised in Hearne, Texas by her grandparents, James Cullen and Gertrude New. She married Grady Russell in 1964 and had two daughters, Cheryl and Traci. In addition to her daughters, the loves of her life were her granddaughter Jessica and great-grandsons, Channing Reece and Sean-Grady Weatherford.

Nancy was a Certified Peace Officer for the State of Texas and currently worked for Skybreak Church, as the Accounting Director for over 20 years. Nancy is fondly remembered as an avid artist and designer. She loved to shop, especially at craft stores. If you wanted the perfect event planned or decorated, she was the one to call. Nancy, or “Nani,” made every birthday, holiday, and celebration special, giving extra time and effort to make sure no detail was missed. Nancy was a straight shooter and you always knew where you stood with her. She was a loyal and faithful friend to many over the years, and she loved those close to her whole-heartedly.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary New; her grandparents, James Cullen and Gertrude New; her sisters, Debbie and Donna; and her beloved fur babies, Charlie and Chloe. She leaves behind her brother, L.D. Robinson, and wife Barbara of Bayou Vista, Texas; her daughters Cheryl and husband Donald Mushinski of Frisco, Texas and Traci and husband Isaiah Conde of Bryan, Texas; one granddaughter, Jessica, and husband Sean Weatherford of Bryan; two great-grandsons, Channing Reece and Sean-Grady Weatherford.
The family gives special thanks to her caregivers: Dr. Michael Steines, Dr. Thomas Campbell, and Dr. Erin Fleener; the staff at The Cancer Center; the staff at CHI St. Joseph; and the staff at Hospice Brazos Valley.

Callaway-Jones Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements and a celebration of life is pending. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made, in her name, to Every Victim Every Time, Inc., P.O. Box 6123, Bryan, Texas 77805.

Condolence from Our Love…Rita & Rodney Amos on September 17th, 2019 4:58 pm

Our thoughts & Prayers are with all of you during this difficult time in your lives. Nancy will never be forgotten. All the fun times we had together in the Sorority and just being neighbors before she moved. Our morning coffee, even though I didn’t drink coffee, more like our morning talks after we got all you kids off to school. A precious lady you could always count on. I know she will be missed dearly, but she is now one beautiful guardian angel watching over her Daughters, Granddaughter Jessica and her great grandsons. Rest in peace dear friend, for your battle is over and you are pain free resting in the arms of Jesus. May God shine his everlasting light upon each of you and may you find comfort in knowing you will see her again one day!
