Nathan was born on October 24, 1998 in Bryan, Texas to Jerry Ellard, Jr. and Tammy Hunter. Nathan graduated from College Station High School Class of 2017. While in high school he enjoyed the daily challenges of life, embracing them with great courage and always ready for the next adventure. He played football throughout high school and cherished every moment as a teammate to incredible young men. Nathan truly loved the great outdoors while enjoying hunting and fishing with his father, brother or closest friends. He also liked reading books on history.

Nathan’s true love was his Power Lifting Competitions where he placed 4th in the Texas State Finals. Nathan has always known his heart was one of service and proudly joined the United States Army to serve our country, where he was well on his way in making the military his career as a Combat Medic. A young man of strong integrity, who had a great influence on the lives of his family and friends, a true soldier for his country will be deeply missed.

His paternal grandparents, Jerry Ellard, Sr. and Sally Ellard, precede Nathan in death.

Nathan’s legacy continues on through his survivors; mother, Tammy Hardick and husband John; father, Jerry Ellard, Jr. and wife Kelli; best brother ever, Wayne Ellard; beloved sister, Morgane Ellard; precious niece, Kailyn; grandparents, Ralph DeWayne Hunter Jr., and wife Cynthia, and Cheryl Hunter; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8517, in memory of PFC Nathan Ellard. www.supportwoundedwarriorproject.org

Although I never knew your son or shared his MOS, the loss of any battle buddy from our big Army family hurts us all. Knowing from the loss of my high school friend SPC. EJ Murphy, I’m aware of the pain his loss bring to you, his friends, his unit, the Army, and the United States as a whole. Over the coming days, weeks, months, and years, I sincerely hope the Ellard family will be able to mourn in peace and live your lives to the fullest while holding the memory of your son. God your family. And to PFC. Ellard, rest easy, battle. Rest easy.

  59. I cannot understand how you are feeling or what you are going through right now, but I am very sorry for your loss of such a great young man your son was. At the service it was known your son had a tremendous impact on his friends and leading them to Jesus. That right their shows how much of a Godly man he is. I spoke to you after the service was over. My name is Bobby Walker. I would like to bring your family a meal if that’s ok. Please let me know. My email is below.

  60. Nathan was an extremely kind guy. I first met him at a power lifting meet and not knowing him, comes up to me and introduces himself. He definitely was a selfless character, making sure the people that surrounded him were happy. I know this condolence is late, but I had just found out about his passing this morning. Every parent, sibling, and friend should take pride in the achievements he acquired while he was still on this earth. He was genuinely one of the nicest young men I have ever met, and I will never ever forget that.
    So, here’s to Nathan.
    Love,
    Blake Johnson
