Bryan

Alfred Wiederwohl, a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Bryan, Texas, on October 26, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on September 5, 1945, in Klagenfurt, Austria, Alfred led a life filled with love, joy, and a deep commitment to his family and community. There is comfort in knowing he is now reunited with parents, Karl and Albina, son Mark, and wife Pat.

Alfred’s career in food service began at Anthony Wayne restaurant and transitioned to Campbell Soup (ARA), showcasing his dedication to the culinary field. He then fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Peppermills Restaurant in Napoleon, Ohio, where he served as a skilled and compassionate owner for 22 remarkable years alongside his beloved wife, Patricia Wiederwohl, who predeceased him. Together, they fostered a warm and welcoming environment that became a staple in the community and a source of many enduring friendships.

Educationally, Alfred was proud to have graduated from Benedictine High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and later earned a Bachelor's degree in business, a foundation that supported his entrepreneurial endeavors. His professional accomplishments were complemented by his commitment to family—his proudest achievements included the friendships he nurtured through his business and relocating to Texas after retirement to spend meaningful time with his family.

Alfred was a kind and caring man, known for his sense of humor and his knack for sharing a good dad joke. He was always up for a conversation, readily engaging with everyone around him. His warmth and compassion were evident in everything he did, especially when surrounded by his grandchildren—Micah, Isaiah, Caden, Zachary, Channing, Quinn, and Kai Wiederwohl. He loved nothing more than cooking and baking with them, creating beautiful memories while teaching them valuable skills. Alfred enjoyed working in the garden with his grandchildren and cherished the moments spent on crafts, showcasing his artistic side. One of the family favorites was his unique game of Oreo cookie checkers, a testament to his creativity and playful spirit.

In addition to his family activities, Alfred had an array of interests and hobbies that included cooking, gardening, and supporting Cleveland sports teams, especially the Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and, more recently, his newly adopted Texas A&M Aggies. He delighted in watching his grandchildren play soccer on Saturdays, winemaking, fishing, and he also found joy in thrift store shopping while discovering treasures to repurpose.

Alfred is survived by his sons, Todd Wiederwohl and Brian (Chrissy) Wiederwohl, and his daughter-in-law, Amy Wiederwohl Tipton. He also leaves behind his brothers, Herman (Gail) Wiederwohl and Bernie Wiederwohl. His legacy will live on through his beloved grandchildren, each of whom holds cherished memories of time spent with their grandfather.

Although Alfred has departed from this world, the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his compassionate spirit, loving nature, and the joy he brought to all who crossed his path.

Following a private celebration of life, Alfred will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife at Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio.
