Ashley
Stallings
Jun 11, 1974 — Jun 18, 2026
Ashley Elisabeth Stallings, 52, of Bryan, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on June 6, 1974, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan and, throughout her life, remained deeply connected to the Bryan-College Station community she called home.
Ashley attended A&M Consolidated from kindergarten through graduation. In high school, she sang in the choir and was a proud member of the Bengal Belles drill team for two years. She went on to Baylor University, where she earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Her love of creativity, beauty, and connection stayed with her throughout her life.
Ashley’s career included work in retail, insurance, Texas A&M, sales, and substitute teaching. In each role, she brought warmth, personality, and a genuine interest in people. She had a way of making ordinary encounters feel personal and rarely met someone without finding a personnel connection.
To know Ashley was to know how much she loved relationships. She kept up with family, friends, milestones, celebrations, and everyday happenings because she genuinely cared. She remembered people, checked in on them, celebrated them, and made them feel seen. Family and friends were among the greatest joys of her life.
Ashley grew up as a member of A&M United Methodist Church and found joy and friendship through her book club, Words with Friends. She was also a longtime Ambassador with the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber recently remembered her for the positive energy and smile she brought to ribbon cuttings and community events, a fitting tribute to the way Ashley loved being part of the life of her community.
Above all else, Ashley was a devoted and proud mother to her sons, Luther and Steed. They were the center of her world. During their public school years, she was an active volunteer with the Tiger Club, PTA, Choir Board, and Lil’ and Elite Wranglers. She was always ready to chaperone, travel, cheer, organize, encourage, and support whatever mattered to them.
Some of Ashley’s happiest memories came from adventures with her sons and the families she met along the way. She zip lined in Roatan, traveled by bus with students to Tennessee, rode rides at Disney World, Disneyland, and Six Flags, walked the streets of New York with a group of high school singers, and watched the Elite Wranglers win a National Championship in Las Vegas. Through those adventures, she formed lasting friendships with many of the other mothers, creating bonds built on shared laughter, long trips, proud moments, and the joy of watching their children grow.
Ashley loved the arts, sports, and community events. She supported OPAS, local theater, and local artists. She was always ready to attend Aggie football, as well as A&M Consolidated sports. Whether she was in the stands, at a performance, at a ribbon cutting, or gathered with friends, Ashley brought enthusiasm, loyalty, and her unmistakable smile.
Her cousin Jeff recalls Ashley’s care as he embarked for his first summer as a Kanakuk camper. As they sat together on the bus, getting ready to leave for camp, Jeff was crying at the thought of leaving home, and his father stood outside the bus crying too. Ashley gently explained that his father’s tears came from love, that he would miss him, but wanted him to go, have fun, and be brave. Even as a young person, Ashley understood something deeply true about love and family. She had a way of seeing the tenderness beneath a moment and offering comfort exactly when it was needed.
In her final months, Ashley faced illness with courage, gratitude, and faith. Family, friends, caregivers, medical professionals, church members, and neighbors surrounded her with visits, meals, rides, prayers, encouragement, laughter, and practical help. The support Ashley received was a reflection of the love she had poured into others throughout her life.
Since Ashley’s death, the outpouring of love has been overwhelming. Friends have shared photos, memories, and words of gratitude for the life they shared with her. They have remembered her as a great friend, a loyal supporter, a force of nature, a light in the world, and someone who found joy in every situation. Their words are a tender reminder of how deeply Ashley was loved and how greatly she will be missed.
Ashley will be remembered for her warmth, generous spirit, positive energy, beautiful smile, deep love for her family, and gift for friendship. She made people feel included, remembered, and cherished. Her legacy lives on in her sons, in the family she loved, in the friendships she nurtured, and in the community she served.
Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sherman Stallings; her grandparents, Bill and Betty Stallings; and her grandparents, Phillip and Sara June Goode.
She is survived by her loving sons, Luther Stover III of New York, New York, and Steed Stover of College Station, Texas; her mother, Celia Goode-Haddock, and stepfather, Bill Haddock, of College Station, Texas; her brother, Quinn Williams, and his wife, Kim, of College Station, Texas; her sister, Leigh Schaefers, and her husband, David, of Richardson, Texas; her stepsister, Kristi England, and her husband, Bryan, of Forney, Texas; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Ashley’s family gives heartfelt thanks to the caregivers, church members, friends, and loved ones who walked alongside Ashley throughout her journey. They are especially grateful to Dr. Erin Fleener, Ashley’s oncologist, and the medical staff at Brazos Valley Cancer Clinic for their extraordinary care, compassion, and dedication. Your prayers, visits, meals, encouragement, laughter, and steadfast support were a blessing beyond measure.
A celebration of Ashley’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25th at 2pm at A&M United Methodist Church in College Station, Texas. The family requests you wear bright colors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BCS Fights Cancer, Inc., in memory of Ashley Stallings or in honor of Dr. Erin Fleener and her team.
