With heavy hearts, we share that Barbara Ann McAfee passed away peacefully on January 10,2026.

She graduated from Marlin High School and later earned a Banking Degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She was a dedicated Member of Altrusa Waco and served as President in 1980 and won the Edith DeBusk’s President Award in 1984.

Barbara worked her entire career in the banking industry in Waco and Bryan, Texas before retiring in 2008. She was well respected and customer service oriented having served many customers for decades. She won numerous awards for sales of banking products and services during her career. One of her favorite duties was being the Bank Liaison for both national and international trips sponsored for her clientele.

Barbara met “the love of her life” Bill McAfee on December 23,1961 in Waco, Texas. They were married on September 18,1965 in the First Methodist Church in Dickson, Texas.

They were married for 62 years prior to Bill’s passing in July 2023.

They were the proud parents of Bea Bea McAfee, a Yorkshire Terrier given to them as a gift on their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Barbara was an extremely talented seamstress and loved doing needlepoint as a hobby. She would spend endless hours memorializing a special day, accomplishment, or a religious quote for family and friends in needlepoint and then proudly surprise them with her personalized gift.

She has two nieces, Lesley Priolo and husband Steve and Lauren Olmeda and husband Jerry .Two nephews Jamie Parsons and Corky Patton and his wife Alene of Seguin. .
