Billie Beran passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025 at his home in Bryan, TX. A Celebration of Life for Billie Beran, 93, will be held on August 25, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bryan, TX at 1:00 PM. Burial at Restever Memorial Park Cemetery immediately following the mass.
Billie was born on January 1,1932 on a farm between Deanville and Caldwell in Burleson County to Vince Raymond and Agnes (Polansky) Beran and was one of seven children born to this union. He always said he was just another mouth to feed since his birth was during the Great Depression.
Billie attended school at Red Hollow where his mom Agnes was the teacher, then later graduated from Caldwell High School, Class of ’49. After graduating he tried to enlist in the Army but was rejected because he had sight in only one eye. Later, when the Korean conflict came about, he was drafted. He served his time as a US Army cook in Alaska. After his Army tour he worked for the Furniture Factory in Bryan, TX and then for the US Post Office as a mail carrier. After he retired from the Post Office he spent most of his time reading the daily newspapers, watching all the Gunsmoke and other re-runs on TV. But most of all he spent a lot of time in his big vegetable garden in Caldwell.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents Vince and Agnes Beran, son Scott Christopher Beran, sisters Elizabeth Piwonska and Evelyn Robinson; brothers Barney B. Beran, Andrew Beran, Leroy Beran and Dennis Beran.
Billie is survived by his wife Norma (Loy) and son Philips K. Beran. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
