Bonnie Wade Schoonover, 75, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on May 29, 1950, in Temple, Texas to David Wade and Mae Schiller (née Gunn), bonnie lived a life full of love, devotion, and purpose. She graduated from Deer Park High School in the Class of 1969 and went on to earn her associate’s degree in health information management from Temple Junior College. Bonnie dedicated over 30 years to her career, retiring from CHI St. Joseph in 2009.
Bonnie was known for her straightforward nature, never afraid to speak her mind and live life on her own terms. She carried herself with honesty, strength, and determination, qualities that left a lasting impression on everyone that knew her. She had a deep love for cooking, was an avid reader, and cherished the adventures she shared traveling with the love of her life, Calvin.
Bonnie is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Calvin Schoonover, her daughters, Kathy Miller (Jeff), Paula Daughtery (Lisa Marie), Kimbery Bosely (Donnie) and Catie Cowan; and her beloved grandchildren Megan, Jordan Billy, Donovan, Connor, Collin, Evan and Emberly. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Reba (Anthony), Darlene, Marilyn (bill), and Les, along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David Wade and Mae Schiller, stepfather Wallie Schiller, sister Helen Marshall and brothers-in-law Ronnie Marshall, Gary Martin, William “Butch” Schoonover, Calvin Dockery and sisters-in-law Imagene Sisco and Margaret Dockery.
Bonnie’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched with her love, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
