Carl Wayne Barosh, 71, of College Station, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2025, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
Carl Wayne Barosh was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by quiet strength, unwavering commitment, and deep love for his family. He worked hard, lived simply, and gave fully—offering protection, laughter, and wisdom to those closest to him.
Carl was born and raised in Texas, where he developed a strong work ethic early on. Straight out of high school, he began working as an operator at a chemical company, a job he dedicated himself to for decades. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his dedication to his family.
Carl married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte, and together they built a life rooted in love, loyalty and faith. Over the course of their 51-year marriage, they raised two children—Erika and Derek—and later welcomed two grandsons, Dane and Axel, who brought him tremendous joy and pride. His family was his world, and everything Carl did—every long shift, every tough decision—was with their well-being in mind.
Carl was always the life of the party—whether he was dancing to his favorite songs, grilling up a feast for his family, or telling a wild fish tale. He loved to fish and found peace at the beach, but there was no place he’d rather be than surrounded by his loved ones. If there was a family BBQ happening, you could count on Carl to be behind the grill, serving up burgers, steaks, and his famous ribs. And let's not forget the crawfish.
Carl loved baseball. He excelled at baseball in High School and continued to play with Adult teams until he was 30. He dedicated himself to learning and coaching baseball, volleyball and all other endeavors by his children.
At the age of 52, Carl was involved in an unfortunate four-wheeler accident that severely altered the course of his life. For the next 20 years, he faced the challenges and hardships of a traumatic brain injury, living the remainder of his life to the best of his ability. It was yet another testament to Carl’s strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family and to life itself.
Carl is survived by his wife Charlotte Barosh, daughter Erika Ervin and husband Kyle, son Derek Barosh, grandchildren Dane and Axel Ervin, brother Kenneth Barosh and wife Carolyn, sister-in-law Ann Barosh, nieces Stephanie Cooper and Kristen Wiggins, and nephew Kyle Barosh.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Mercile Barosh, brother Gerald Barosh, and cousin Belinda Godines.
To all the caregivers who have supported our family over the past two decades, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.
He will be remembered as a man of charisma, and endless energy - a man whose actions spoke volumes and whose love was felt in the way he showed up, every single day.
His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the values he lived by.
