Coy H Perry

Coy H. Perry passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 84. A devoted husband, father, family man, veteran, and man of faith, Coy lived a life marked by hard work, perseverance, loyalty, and a deep commitment to the people he loved.

Coy was born on December 21, 1941, in Buckholts, Texas, to Dovie Mae Choate and Coy Candace Perry. He shared a special bond with his twin brother, Johnie Barton Perry. His early life was not always easy, and he spent part of his childhood in an orphanage in Corsicana, Texas. Those experiences helped shape the strength, independence, determination, and appreciation for family that remained with him throughout his life.

As a young man, Coy answered the call to serve his country as a member of the United States Army. His military service was a source of pride and reflected the sense of duty and responsibility that characterized so much of his life.

Coy later built a long career as a building official for the City of College Station, where his knowledge, practical judgment, and dedication to doing things correctly served the community for many years. He took pride in his work, but his career was only one part of the life he built.

At the center of Coy’s life were faith and family. He was a member of Northview Baptist Church, and his Christian faith was an important part of who he was and how he lived. He believed in taking care of family, standing by the people he loved, working hard, and remaining faithful through both good times and difficult ones.

Coy shared his life with his wife, Patricia Perry, and was the proud father of his son, Cliff Perry, and father-in-law to Debbie Perry. His family was deeply important to him. The life he created with them, the years they shared, and the memories made together are an enduring part of his legacy.

Coy also knew how to enjoy the simple things in life. He loved fishing, especially when it meant spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed gospel music, spending time on the computer visiting and keeping up with friends, and trips to Rockport, Texas, a place that held a special place in his heart. Whether he was on the water, listening to the music he loved, talking with friends, or enjoying time in Rockport, Coy valued the moments that brought people together.

Coy’s story was one of resilience. From his beginnings in a small Texas town and the challenges of his childhood, through military service, a long career, marriage, fatherhood, and a lifetime of faith, he built a life grounded in responsibility and devotion to those he called family.

He will be remembered not simply for the work he did or the years he lived, but for the man he was: strong, steadfast, hardworking, faithful, and deeply devoted to his family. He will also be remembered for the fishing trips, gospel music, friendships, conversations, and treasured times in Rockport that brought him happiness throughout his life.

Those who knew and loved Coy will carry his memory with them, grateful for the life he lived and the place he will always hold in their family.

Faith and family were important to Coy throughout his life, and it is through both that his legacy will continue.
