Daniel Alonso was born on April 1, 1942 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, México, and passed away peacefully in College Station, Texas on April 22, 2026.He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Elifonsa Alonzo, his sisters Lydia and Aurora, his brothers Angel and Cruz, and our two Angel babies.

He is survived by his wife Isabel Alonso, his children Timoteo, Alma Iris (Joshua; fiancé), Daniel, and Hazael (Abigail), his grandchildren Keelan Cruz, Catalina Iliana, Jericho Daniel, Anneliese Natalia, Ethan Isaac and Santiago Isaías, his brother Eliazar (Mary), and three sisters Beatriz Salas, Maria Wiengart, and Dora Alonso.

Daniel immigrated from Mexico to the United States in 1969. Later met his wife Isabel in Homestead, Florida, fell in love, and married on January 19, 1974, a love that lasted 52 years strong. Daniel accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 20 and got baptized in water shortly thereafter. At the age of 37 he became the pastor at “Columna y Apoyo de la Verdad” Pentecostal Holiness Church from 1980 to 1983 in Homestead, Florida being entrusted with approximately 250 newly saved souls—fruit of a great tent revival. Later in life he attended Templo Sulamita in Bryan, Texas and served and preached whenever given the opportunity. He loved working outside on the grounds at church. He was always available for the work of the Lord.

He was a singer and a musician. In 1970, along with Pastor Felix Jauregui, his nephew Jose Cruz Alonzo, and Felipe Salazar recorded an LP titled “Vamos Por Toda La Florida” in Miami, FL at Criteria Recording Studios.

He loved to travel, finally settling in Bryan Texas. He worked at Texas A&M University for 17 years retiring January 2009. Later working at Sexing Technologies for eight years permanently retiring in 2021.

After his retirement, he continued working at the country at a ranch. He loved to work. He was never idle. He was always busy.

After a long battle with his illness, he passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith.

Our hearts are broken and our spirits crushed, but we must run the race that is set before us to go meet the Lord and my husband and the father of my children one day soon.

1 John 3:2

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-55

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
