Obituary

Diana Davis, beloved wife, daughter, and friend, passed away at home on June 6th, 2026. A celebration of life will be held Monday, June 15th from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at Callaway Jones in Bryan, Texas. An interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas on June 17th. There will also be a special service in Jackson, Missouri at McCombs Funeral Home Tuesday, June 23rd from 9:00am to 11:30 for family, friends and teaching associates officiated by Sam Roethemeyer.

Diana was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Arthur Lynn and Rosalie Heitman. She attended schools in the Bootheel and graduated High School from Fredericktown. Her choice for college was Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri where she met her husband Bob Davis. There she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1968. After teaching one year in Jefferson City, Missouri she attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and completed a Master of Education. She was part of the first class specializing in emotionally disturbed children later titled Special Education in public schools. Originally she worked with children in Dallas clinics until public schools were required to include this sector. In 1990 she returned to Jackson, Missouri teaching Special Education at Jackson Middle School until retiring.

Following retirement, Diana and Bob settled in Bryan, Texas. Here she was very active in Republican Women of Brazos Valley (RWBV), and served as RWBV President for the past 4 years. Diana was also very involved in the election process in Brazos County mostly serving as the Judge in Primary and General Elections at First Baptist Church Bryan. Diana was also very active with Texas A&M University. As a member of the Brazos County A&M Club (BCAMC) she always volunteered to participate with the club’s Scholarship recipients, attending lunches and ceremonies. Diana was always thrilled to participate in the tradition of handing out Aggie rings every semester since 2012. Diana was an avid fan of Texas A&M Athletics. She and Bob attended all men’s and women’s basketball games. As season ticket holders, her true love was baseball because of growing up in Missouri as a St. Louis Cardinal fan. They tailgated with a group of close friends before the games making baseball especially entertaining.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Lynn and Rosalie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Cape Girardeau area. She is survived by her husband Bob Davis; first cousins Richard Robinson and his wife Deborah, Judy Hudgins, Dina Casey, Gina Rogers, Vera Berkbigler; step daughters Christina Moon and Kimberly Davis, 3 Grandchildren and one Great Granddaughter.
