Dorothy Anne Levene

Dorothy Anne Levene died peacefully Wednesday, June 18, with family at her side, after a short illness. She was born December 13, 1930 to Earle Nelson Coash and Evangeline Marie (Pajot) Coash, in Detroit, MIchigan. She graduated from Nazareth Academy and attended Kalamazoo College. Her first job was that of telephone operator. Years later she worked part-time selling gems wholesale and later full-time in real estate, but her additional full time occupation was always motherhood.

Those who know her will vividly remember her warmth and exuberantly joyous love of life.

She was fiercely devoted to her family and friends who will forever treasure their memories of her. She married John T. Northrop in 1950 and Jack Levene in 1981.

Surviving are children Joseph P. Northrop, Paula M. (Arthur) Bolder, Ann Marie (Mark) Mason, Rae Lee Howard, Lori (Glenn) Putnam, Robyn Levene, a sister Janet Cowels, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband John Northrop, second husband Jack Levene, siblings Genevieve Northrop, Paul Coash and Robert Coash, sons, John Northrop, Jr. and Scott Levene, and daughter Caryn Wilson.

The family wishes to thank Brenda Rangal for her kind and excellent assistance to Dorothy over the past ten years, and to thank Amber Gipson and Brenda Fuqua from Allumine Hospice for their compassionate and kind care.
