Dorothy Alice Siegert (nee Clary), of College Station, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, 31 August 2026 at “Our House Senior Living and Healthcare”. Born 7 September 1930 in Cross, Texas, she was the third of four children of Nollie Robertson and Sarah Lillie Clary of Bryan, Texas. After her parent’s move to Bryan, she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School (Go, Bronco’s) in 1947. Following graduation Dorothy worked in Bryan as a bookkeeper for Parker Astin Hardware.

On the first of January 1951 Dorothy was involved in a car wreck at the intersection of Highways 6 and 21 in Bryan. Seeing the wreck Robert William Siegert, Jr., rushed to the scene wherefrom he drove Dorothy to the hospital for treatment of injuries. With providential wonder, on Valentine’s Day 1951 they were engaged; they married on 15 March 1951. A few months later Robert entered active-duty service in the US Army. Moving 22 times over a 30-year span with the Army, Dorothy met every change and deployment with steadfast love and support— including serving as Hospitality Chairperson for Army Readiness Region II and as President of the Officer’s Wives Club at Fort Dix, New Jersey in 1974/75.

Dorothy and Robert raised three children--Robert III (“Bill”), Morris Patrick and Elizabeth Sue (“Suzy”). Dorothy loved her family and was very active in her children’s lives. She devoted many years of service to the Cub Scouts as a den mother, Brownie Scout leader, Red Cross volunteer and Sunday School teacher—and was very active in the Parent-Teacher’s Association (PTA) through her children’s school years. Dorothy and Robert were married for 68 years, until his passing in September 2019.

Dorothy and Robert moved back to College Station upon retirement from the Army to be close to family and friends. Family gatherings and grandchildren, with some traveling thrown in, became priorities—especially grandchildren—for whom her name became “Nana”. To her, family was everything. Nana provided a warm and inviting nest, made the best food (all desserts from scratch), told the greatest and funniest stories, fixed every boo-boo and made every holiday special—Christmas decorating and presents, Easter egg hunts, birthdays/cakes and ‘pin the-tail-on-the-donkey’ games.

Dorothy/”Nana” celebrated life and “walked the walk”. She was “there”. She cared and she loved. And, at the highest personal level, she celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ—in whose company she now resides. Dorothy and Robert were long time members of First Baptist Church in College Station.

Dorothy is preceded in passing by her husband, Robert Jr., her son, Patrick, and her great grandson, Barron. Her sisters, Juanita Bond and Nina Ruth Binford, and her brother, Pete Clary, also preceded her in death.

Dorothy is survived by son, “Bill”, and his wife, Faye, of Chantilly, Virginia, and–daughter, “Suzy” and her husband, Robert Lange, of Bryan. Seven grandchildren--Jennifer Siegert (Huntington Beach, CA), Courtney Siegert (Chantilly, VA), Ryan Siegert (College Station) and Britton Siegert (College Station), Robert Hines (Vandenberg AFB, CA), Ross Hines (Jasper, TX) and Calvin Hines (Austin, TX)—and their families also survive Dorothy—including thirteen great-grandchildren.
