Elsie Mae Wade

Elsie Wade, 87, of Wellborn passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in College Station. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Elsie was born October 26, 1935 in the Peach Creek Community just south of College Station to Seth & Elizabeth Marquart. She married Thomas Wade on February 14, 1952 and were blessed with four children. She retired from A&M Consolidated ISD in May of 1994 as Attendance Clerk at the Middle School.

Elsie was the perfect example of what a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother should be. She was also a true friend to all who met her and enjoyed her Tuesday afternoon card game.

She is survived by her daughters Beth Hammock, partner Denis Van De Wiele of Wellborn, Tx.; Sherry Boyd, partner Ronnie Jones of Wellborn, Tx.; Patsy Nagel, husband Louis of Wellborn, Tx.; and Tommy Wade, wife Debbie of Jacksonville, Tx. Four grandchildren, Brandy Wade of Chicago, Il; James Smith, wife Kristi of Wellborn, Tx; Curtis Smith, wife Person Adrienne of North Zulch, Tx. and Nikolas Boyd, wife Jennifer of College Station, Tx.. She also has 6 great grandchildren Brittany Smith Alvarez, husband Joseph of College Station, Tx.; Bethany Smith, of College Station, Tx.; Brianna Smith, of Houston, Tx.; Colton Smith, of College Station, Tx.; Jolie & Jensen Boyd, of College Station, Tx.. Her blessings also included 2 great great grandchildren, Alana & Mason Alvarez, of College Station, Tx..

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, Seth & Elizabeth Marquart; husband – Thomas Wade; daughter, Pam Wade Smith; sister, Reba Warren and son-in-law, Tim Hammock.
