The gardens of heaven are now flourishing more than ever under the tender care, nurturement and devotion towards all things that grow, as Eunice Everie (Kasper) Lorenz, entered the heavenly gates of the Kingdom of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Eunice was born on November 27, 1933, in Lincoln, Texas. Church was an instrumental part of life for Eunice and her family. She was baptized on December 10, 1933, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas and confirmed on March 30, 1947, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. She married Robert R. Lorenz on June 26, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings, Texas. Eunice worked as church secretary for Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, Texas for numerous years. She served the Lord as a Sunday School teacher, a Vacation Bible School teacher, Lutheran Women Missionary League (LWML) zone president, as well as being involved with the youth group, and a multitude of other church committees throughout her life. She along with Pastor Gordon Albers, started the Alter Guild Group for Bethel Lutheran Church. As a gifted seamstress, she dedicated time toward the creation of banners, Chrismons, Alter Cloths, and Communion Linens. Her most cherished project are the Christmas Angel banners that have hung at the front of the Bethel Lutheran Church every Christmas season. She devoted years leading the Helping Hands Group in sewing countless quilts for those in need, leaving behind a tapestry of beauty, kindness and generosity to lives she touched.
As a youth, Eunice attended schools in Smithville, Klein, Conroe, and Trinity Lutheran of Houston; graduating from Giddings High School in June of 1951, she was employed by the Giddings School District as the secretary to the Superintendent. She worked for the College Station Independent School District in numerous positions, ultimately retiring after returning to work part-time in May of 2000.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Amanda (Meschke) Kasper, younger sister Diana Kasper, and brother-in-laws Albert Hempel, and Albert Kelb. She is survived by sisters Beatrice Hempel and Virginia Kleb; daughter Cheryl Jones and husband Kenneth; daughter Lisa Bass and husband Dennis; five grandchildren Amanda Englund and husband Gavin, Allison Baker and husband Matthew, Robert, Tanner, and Cole Bass and Cole’s fiancé Kassandra Pena. Great granddaughters Natalie Lorraine and Clara Everie Englund, and many other family members and friends who await with great anticipation of being united with her once again.
As an industrious, creative, and hardworking daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, co-worker, neighbor, and friend, Eunice truly exemplified her confirmation verse throughout all areas of her life…
“Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
We praise God as He welcomes Eunice with open arms exclaiming, “Well done my good and faithful servant!”
