Gayla Marie Brown Reinbolt was born on July 21, 1971, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Bob and Lisa Brown. In 1984, her family moved to Texas, where Gayla attended school in College Station and became an active member of Northview Baptist Church’s youth program.
After graduating from A&M Consolidated High School, Gayla began her professional life working in the oil field with local companies, where she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. In 2000, she joined the College Station Hilton, where her gift for caring for both customers and coworkers allowed her to shine to the role of Convention Service Manager. It was there that she met the love of her life —her future husband, Josh Reinbolt.
Gayla later served as Administrative Coordinator at White Creek Apartments at Texas A&M University. For four years, she supported seven Community Managers and more than 50 Resident Advisors—whom she affectionately called “her kids.” Gayla was truly the backbone of White Creek, always stepping in to help and offering support when challenges arose. Her dedication, pride, and love for her work left a legacy that will be felt for years to come.
Gayla and Josh’s love story began when they met in 2007. They started dating in 2009, became engaged in 2011 during a trip to Japan to visit Josh’s sister, and were married on March 24, 2012, at 7F Lodge—a dream come true for both of them. Their love only grew deeper over the years as they shared a passion for traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on all things Aggie sports.
The greatest joy of Gayla’s life was her daughter, Madison. She cherished watching the bond between Josh and Madison grow, connected by their shared love of music, concerts, reading, and superhero movies. Gayla was endlessly proud of Madison for chasing her dreams and moving to South Korea, where she now teaches English as a second language.
Gayla is survived by her devoted husband, Josh Reinbolt, and beloved daughter, Madison; her parents, Bob and Lisa Brown; and her sisters, Kristie Hernandez (and husband Mario) and Jenny Mack (and husband David). She also leaves behind her nephew Hunter Mack (and wife Katelyn); her nieces Lauren Mack and Brookelynn Gilmore (and husband Blayne); and her cherished great-niece, Hadley Gilmore.
Gayla was also deeply connected to her extended family, including her mother-in-law, Elaine Reinbolt; sisters-in-law Rebecca Deatherage (and husband Eric) and Allison Wells (and husband Sean); and her niece and nephew, Jacob, Abby, and many others who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Roscoe and Dellie Brown and A.H. (Bill) and Sybil Jefcoat, along with many beloved aunts and uncles.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gayla’s life on Friday, August 8th, from 4–7 p.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan during a come-and-go visitation.
