George Patrick Anderson

April 28, 1950 — May 18, 2025

Hempstead, Texas

George “Pat” Patrick Anderson, 75, of Hempstead, Texas, passed away on May 18, 2025. He was a cherished partner, father, grandfather, and friend who believed in living life to its fullest.

He was born on April 28, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Jacksonville, Texas, until he attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1972. While earning his degree, he spent time working offshore on oil rigs, paving the way for an impressive career spanning over five decades in oil and gas services. His expertise contributed to companies including Weatherford, Stewart & Stevenson, Drilling Tools Inc, and NOV. His career took him across nearly every continent and country, forming cherished friendships and gathering unforgettable stories that he loved to share.

In his retirement, Pat had pride working on his ranch, raising cattle, and attending local auctions and rodeos. Since he believed in hard work and staying busy, he also owned and managed the A&W Flag Company and could be found attending community events and installing flags at schools, dealerships and other local ranches. In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan, regularly attending Texas A&M football games and cheering on professional and collegiate baseball, basketball, and football teams. He had a deep love for horse racing, particularly the Kentucky Derby, and frequently embarked on hunting and fishing trips with friends and family.

Pat was a born entertainer known for his boisterous laughter, larger-than-life personality, and sharing of countless stories and advice. Whether poolside with a cigar, barbecuing, grilling steaks, or entertaining friends and family, he made every occasion memorable.

He is survived by his partner, Glenda Wylie; his children, Patrick Bryan Anderson, Christina Anderson Bloise, and Tiffany Frances Anderson; and his eight grandchildren. He is predeceased by his mother, Frances Heath Anderson, and his father, George Anderson.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Pat’s life at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, located at 3001 S College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
