Hilltop Lakes

It is with great sadness that the family of Gladys Pauline Watson announces her passing early in the morning of Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the age of 101 years. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.

She will be lovingly remembered by her remaining two children (Sandra Harvey and Rodney Watson) along with numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.

She was born in Lake Creek, Texas in 1924. She was the first child of her parents, Charlie and Clara Carpenter. A few years later she was joined by a baby brother, Charles (Sonny), who is now also deceased.

In 1940, she married the love of her life, Joseph Charles Watson, who preceded her in death. They had five children, Sandra, Richard (deceased), Robert (died at birth), Raymond (deceased), and Rodney. There were also 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Her faith in God was one of her attributes. As long as she was physically able she was involved with her church and up until her death she read her Bible daily.

Prior to retirement, she worked at Texas A&M for a number of years in their Engineering Accounting department. She considered that the best job she ever had. During the earlier years she had worked at several other jobs including owning a plaster and ceramics shop. She worked at Texas A&M until she and her husband both retired and moved to Hilltop Lakes. After Charles death, she remained at Hilltop Lakes until her health required her to go into an assisted living home where she remained until her death.
