Guy D. King, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025 in the company of Carol King, his wife of 73 years. Born in Waco, Texas, he was the oldest son of Guy David and Emma (Vibrock) King. He attended Waco public schools, graduating from Waco High School in January of 1949. He was a member of the undefeated Waco High State Championship football team of 1948.

Guy married Martha Carol Simons of Fort Worth, Texas on July 19, 1952. He attended Texas A&M University, Class of 1952, graduating in January of 1953, with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the Corps of Cadets, serving as a Cadet Major on the Artillery Regimental Staff and was awarded an Army commission as a Second Lieutenant. He was called to duty during the Korean War and served at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Hood, Texas (served as a Referee during Operation Spearhead in 1955) and Camp Chaffee, Arkansas training Cannoneers for the Korean War. While on active duty, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service. He later earned the rank of Captain in the Army Reserves.

After military service he joined his father in the ownership of Guy King Tire Company in Waco. While working in the tire business, he participated in numerous community activities: President of the Waco Jaycees (1959/60), Chairman of the Board of Trustees of McLennan Community College (1975/77), Chairman of the Waco Urban Renewal Board, Chairman of the City of Waco Zoning Board of Adjustment. In 1962, Guy was honored as one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans by the Texas Jaycees.

Guy served as President of the Aggie Club in 1963 and 1964. The Aggie Club later became the 12th Man Foundation. This organization raises funds for Athletic Scholarships and financial needs of the Aggie Athletic Department. Due to work done by Guy in support of Aggie Sports, in 1988, he was inducted into the Texas Aggie Letterman's Association as an Honorary Letterman. In 1960, he was also elected Class Agent of the Class of 952. Guy and Carol also donated an Endowed Athletic Scholarship in 1985. Guy also served as Past President of both the San Antonio A&M Club and the Waco A&M Club.

Guy is survived by his wife Carol, his three sons, David R. King of London, England, Stephen S. King of San Clemente, CA, Andrew W. King of Dallas, Texas, two grandsons, two granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren.
