Helen Dail Edmonds Jennings, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed from this world on Thursday, July 17, 2025. Born on April 19, 1944, in Norfolk, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of P. Lawrence Edmonds and Alice Bartlett Edmonds.
Dail was a woman of grace and warmth, forever remembered for her radiant smile and vivacious spirit. She graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk before pursuing her education further at Old Dominion University and East Texas State University.
In her community, Dail was an active member of the 1st Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas. Her heart was dedicated to service, as she volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and participated in family council efforts within local nursing homes, reflecting her unwavering commitment to helping others.
Though she is preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister Gaye Clements, Dail's legacy lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her son, Chris Jennings of Bryan; her daughter, Kit King and her husband David; and her cherished grandchildren, Brady Schultz (Hannah) of Fort Worth, Austin Schultz (Emily) of Bryan, and Kamryn Dail Sowders of Bryan. Additionally, she revels in the joy of great-grandchildren Lillian, Landon, Kennedy, and Easton; father of her children, William Morley Jennings; Dail is fondly remembered by her brother-in-law, Marvin Clements Jr., and nephews—Wayne Clements, Brian Clements, and Stephen Clements—as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, and loved ones who held a special place in her heart.
A Celebration of Dail's Life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center in Bryan, Texas.
As we gather to honor and reminisce about Dail’s life, let us carry forward her spirit of kindness and love, forever etching her memory into our hearts.
